Sweater Sleeves into Legs

Remember that cable knit sweater that I turned into a pillow and said I would make a pair of pants from them?  Well, I took those sleeves and turned them into a pair of cable knit pants.  Here’s what I did:

I took a pair of PJ bottoms to use as a template and outlined them plus seam allowance

After roughly tracing them, I cut the sleeves.

With right sides together, I sewed the center crotch and formed a pair of pants

I finished off the waistband with a silky fabric and elastic band inside.

Ta Da! They fit!!

I think Fox, Valiant and Jude all need a pair in their Christmas stocking! I just need to get the old sweaters to do it.

  6. What a great way to use old sweaters. Terri you are amazing!

I saw this chair cover and it reminded me of your project:

Valiant also told me he wanted a pair of those in his stocking (so talkative these days!)

wow! That is quite the chair at etsy. I crocheted a blanket in that pattern once.

Valiant is very precocious! and precious. He needs a pair for sure.
